Several families descended from freed Tennessee and Kentucky slaves came to settle on land grants in the Trinity River basin in the 1860s. Their descendants are determined to give the community's heritage a lasting home. This cookbook is part of a series of efforts by the Garden of Eden Neighborhood Association to raise money for a history and culture museum in this east Fort Worth neighborhood, which was designated as a Fort Worth historic district in 2005.
