Summary
The memoir of a woman test pilot in World War II. Carl belonged to a corps of women pilots on the home front who, for the most part, delivered planes and tested repaired ones. In her case, however, she experimentally tested the B-29 Superfortress and the Bell YP-59A jet fighter. After the war she became a journalist and sailor, sailing all the way to Turkey
