Summary
Designation by the 74th Legislature as the official Music Ambassadors for the sovereign State of Texas is just one of the many honors that the Light Crust Doughboys proudly bare. Their impressive career upon entering the millennium spans almost 70 years and has truly come "Full Circle." Established in 1931, the Light Crust Doughboys have been heralded by the music industry as the original swing band and the world's longest running country band. The Light Crust Doughboys were the very first inductees into the Texas Western Swing Hall of Fame and in both 1998 and 1999 were nominated for the prestigious Grammy Awards and the Gospel Music Awards in 1999. From swing to country to gospel these music icons come full circle in a celebration from the Rodeo City Music Hall in Mesquite, Texas. Hosted by Texas Gospel Hall of Famer Lou Wills Hildreth, The Boys are joined by special guests the legendary Dr. James Blackwood and members of the Bob Wills Family. This visual release is powerfully produced by 2 Hats Entertainment, Inc. and captures the very essence of a group that has become part of American History
