Summary
Dancing in the Light presents six historic works by African American choreographers, filmed by the American Dance Festival to preserve and celebrate the black tradition in modern dance. Created from 1938 to 1959, when viewed together in chronological order these works dramatically illustrate the important role black choreographers have played in the development of American modern dance. Host Taye Diggs introduces each dance, and gives preĢcis biographies of the creative men and women who conceived them and brought them to the public
