Summary
At a maximum-security penitentiary in Louisiana, a group of Christian evangelicals conducts a carefully designed religious retreat. Five felons, handpicked by the Warden, join fellow inmates in this Encounter with Christ. Can these misfits: a gang banger, jailhouse theologian, narcissistic rocker, twitchy redneck, and a former football phenom find redemption? Ministry leaders, including the late Charles Colson, contend bible studies reduce the number of inmates who are re-incarcerated. Can religion keep these men from returning to lock-up?
