Summary
"I commissioned this book as the author has collated lots of easy to access advice and tips on how to support children with autism at home and at school. Each chapter is short and provides two or three tips which the author has tried and used effectively to support children with autism through her career (she has been a teacher supporting children with autism). She also compiles useful resources so that parents or teachers know where to find more. In addition, the author is autistic and uses her own insight in writing poems to accompany each topic. The value of these poems come in their attempt to show what the experience feels like for someone with autism. The commentary on the poem and the experience add another layer to this book, namely that this is about understanding the autistic experience" --, Provided by publisher
