The Texas Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE) was founded in 1936; the Dallas Chapter was founded December 31, 1941. Originally called the North Texas Chapter, it was the third chapter founded in the TSPE., The group changed its name to the Dallas Chapter after World War II to reflect its growing membership. The TSPE is an organization devoted to "the professional, ethical, economic, social and political aspects of engineering." The organization currently has 27 chapters, including the Dallas Chapter. The Texas Society of Professional Engineers is affiliated with the National Society of Professional Engineers.
