The Friday Forum was a woman's lecture and program series founded by Mildred Sale in 1957. Programs and performances were originally held at the Fine Arts Theater in Snider Plaza through the 1964-1965 season. Due to a large jump in membership in the 1965-1966 season because of the appearance of Baroness Maria Von Trapp, the programs were then moved to the Cinema I North Park. They would remain at North Park until being moved to The Inwood Theater in the 1999-2000 season. A short list of some of the many guests that the Friday Forum Club hosted include Vincent Price, Jeane Dixon, Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy, Marjorie Holmes, Ann Landers, David Frost, Art Linkletter, Ogden Nash, Walter Slezak, and many others. The first event was held on November 15, 1957 and featured Viennese character dancer Cilli Wang in "The World of Cilli Wang." Each season would usually consist of six programs and would run from the fall through the spring.
