Summary
Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Kay families who came mainly from Lancashire and Yorkshire, England. Some focus is on (but not limited to) descendants of Robert Kay, Sr. (ca. 1725-1808). One of his ancestors was James Kay, who left Walmersley, England to settle in Virginia in 1650. Robert was born in King George County, Virginia. He married Pricilla, and had seven children: James, Grace, Elizabeth, Robert Jr., Charles, William, and John. The children took spouses from the Ball, Elgin, McDavid, and Trussell families. Some collateral families came from Ireland. Their family lived in King George County, Prince William County, and Frederick County, Virginia and later moved to South Carolina. Robert Kay, Sr. was a planter and one of the early settlers of at Broadmouth Creek in Pendleton District (now Anderson County), South Carolina. Robert Kay, Sr. died in 1808. Some descendants and relatives still live in England. Others live in Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Wisconsin, and elsewhere
