Summary
"Annie" is the story of the little orphan girl who never lacks optimism as she yearns to find the parents who abandoned her. In the tale, set in New York city during the depression era, Annie and her fellow orphans do their best to survive under the harsh conditions set forth by their cruel caretaker, Miss Hannigan (Ms. Bates). Annie runs away from the orphanage in search of her parents, only to be returned by the police. Meanwhile, the nation's richest man, billionaire Oliver "Daddy" Warbucks (Mr. Garber), has been accused of not caring enough about the poor and agrees to take in an orphan -- Annie -- for the Christmas holidays. But a greedy scheme involving the dastardly Miss Hannigan and her brother, Rooster (Cumming), puts the holiday festivities in jeopardy
