Summary
A promotional booklet for the Stephen F. Austin Hotel in Austin, Texas. Built in 1924 as the city's first high-rise hotel, it is today (2019) known as the InterContinental Stephen F. Austin and remains a luxury hotel. It retains its historic Art Deco facade. This booklet dates to the period when the hotel opened and provides interesting details from costs, to details about the building, to plans to likely enlarge the structure, as well as photographs of the interior. The advertisements are of interest in that many of the businesses provided materials for the construction or furnishing of the hotel. In addition the book provides a guide to Austin and to Baker hotels
resource.variantTitle
