  • The Equalizer: McCall, a man who believes he has put his mysterious past behind him and dedicated himself to beginning a new, quiet life. Creasy is not interested in being a bodyguard, especially to a young girl, but he accepts the assignment. Slowly, Pita chips away at Creasy's seemingly impenetrable exterior, his defenses drop, and he opens up to her. Then Pita is kidnapped and Creasy is seriously wounded. He vows to kill anyone involved in or profiting from the kidnapping
  • John Q.: John Q. is a factory worker facing financial hardship as a result of reduced hours in his workplace. He and his wife soon discover that their child is in need of an emergency heart transplant. Although they have an HMO, they are informed that their policy doesn't cover such an expensive procedure. Unable to raise the money for the surgery himself and with no recourse but to take his son home to die, John snaps and holds the staff and patients of the hospital's emergency room hostage at gunpoint
  • Training Day: Jake Hoyt, a fresh-faced rookie in the Los Angeles Police Department, gets a chance to join the elite narcotics squad headed up by 13-year veteran Detective Sergeant Alonzo Harris. Jake is to prove himself during a one-day ride-along. As the day wears on, it becomes increasingly clear that Detective Harris has blurred the line between right and wrong to an alarming degree, enforcing his own code of ethics and street justice. Eventually, Jake begins to suspect that, rather than having the opportunity to join the squad, he is being set up to take the fall

Colonel Nathaniel Serling is asked to review the posthumous candidacy of the first woman to receive a Medal of Honor, he finds himself plunged into an apparent cover-up surrounding the actions that led to her death.
