Summary

The wife of a wealthy 17th century English landowner wants twelve elaborate drawings made of the property as a gift for her husband when he returns from a business trip. The arrogant artist she hires demands sexual favors as well as money and lodging, and insists on having complete control of the grounds. When her husband is found murdered, the artist realizes that things are not what they seem, and that he is not as much in control of the situation as he thought
