Summary
An orphan named Valerio flees the priest in charge of his welfare, and goes on to win a raffle by drawing a card known as the Seven of Goblets. Years later, Valerio still possesses this good-luck trinket, keeping it by his side as he travels around the country playing one card game after another. The charm always seems to bring him luck, until a new man in town beats him at a game, and worse yet, goes for Valerio's love interest
